Tottenham Hotspur 9 – Wigan 1 with Video
Nov 23rd
Tottenham Hotspur:

Player that been linked with Tottenham Hotspurs
Reports in Italy are signalling that Spurs are to step up their bid to land Klaas-Jan Huntelaar from AC Milan.
Klaas-Jan Huntelaar AC Milan
Huntelaar has failed to become a hit with the Rossoneri this year after his big money move from Real Madrid and Spurs will aim to land the Dutchman once they have offloaded Roman Pavlyuchenko.
Spurs tried to buy Huntelaar from Madrid in the summer, but the Dutchman plumped for AC Milan instead, as doubts persisted if Spurs could afford his wages.
Spurs are willing to compensate the full £15 million that Milan shelled out in the summer in order to get their man.
It has also been mooted that Gareth Bale could be used as bait, with the Welshman having been looked at previously by the Italian giants.

Vicente from Valencia

The Spanish midfielder Vicente is keen to leave Valencia and it is reported – in Spain – that Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp is one of the suitors looking at the winger as he looks to improve his squad in January. Valencia have had a solid start to the La Liga season but with reported financial problems any big offer will be tough for the staff at the Mestalla to refuse.
Sandro from Internacional
Tottenham Hotspur are being linked with a move for Internacional midfielder Sandro as boss Harry Redknapp attempts to bolster his central midfield options. The Spurs boss is keen to add more depth to his squad and believes that he needs more than Wilson Palacios, Tom Huddlestone and Jermaine Jenas in the centre of his midfield. The 20-year-old Sandro, who made his international debut for Brazil earlier in the year, is certainly on Redknapp’s radar. The former West Ham United and Portsmouth boss said: “We’ve only got three central midfield players. Jamie O’Hara went, Kevin-Prince Boateng went, Didier Zokora went. Suddenly we’re very, very short in there. Jermaine Jenas is on four bookings, Palacios on three. So I’m looking for someone else who can play in midfield here. We’ve been looking at Sandro. He’s just breaking into the Brazilian team from the Under-21s. He can play – he’s a modern day midfield player. I’d like to go and have a look myself as well and, if we do decide to do anything, it’ll be up to the chairman to push it on from there.”

Gareth Bale ke Birmingham City

Birmingham manager Alex McLeish is ready to bring Welsh international Gareth Bale to St Andrews in a 3mil deal that would see him become the first new signing since Carson Yeung took over. Bale, currently at Tottenham, has endured a tough time in London but has quality, especially within his left foot.

News
Arsenal forward Robin van Persie struck twice to maintain his side’s bragging rights over north London rivals Tottenham Hotspur. Spurs have not won a league fixture against Arsenal since 1999, and they fell away after Van Persie opened the scoring at the Emirates Stadium and Cesc Fabregas added the second after winning possession straight from the kick-off.
Both sides went into the weekend level on points, albeit with Spurs playing a match extra, but talk of the gap between the clubs being closed was well and truly ended when Van Persie tapped in the third after the break.
Spurs manager Harry Redknapp chose to match Arsenal’s formation and play Peter Crouch up front on his own and Robbie Keane on the left. The plan worked well initially, with the home fans starting to get restless in frustration until the two goals in as many minutes just before the interval.
Spurs did not create much themselves but limited their rivals to half-chances, aside from when Ledley King’s tackle on Andrey Arshavin fell for Fabregas with most of the goal to aim for. Even then Heurelho Gomes threw himself to his left to save the effort and grab the rebound from Nicklas Bendtner’s toes.
The match totally turned just before the break, with Van Persie firstly giving Spurs a warning after Benoit Assou-Ekotto’s error. The Cameroon full-back gifted possession to Fabregas on the edge of the area, with the Arsenal skipper weighting a pass through to Van Persie, who had Gomes to beat but scuffed his finish wide.
Arshavin then had an effort deflected over by Vedran Corluka after cutting in from the right – but the hosts were not made to wait long for the opener. Bacary Sagna’s low cross from the right, after being allowed time to steady himself, was met by Van Persie and crept in at Gomes’ near post after the Dutchman got across King.
he second came 11 seconds after Spurs kicked off. Wilson Palacios tripped and Fabregas took charge, bursting through challenges from the Honduras international and Tom Huddlestone. The Arsenal skipper then skipped around King and planted his finish coolly past Gomes.
In the second half Arsenal looked to extend their lead. Eduardo, a replacement after Nicklas Bendtner picked up an apparent groin injury, was sent through by Fabregas and Gomes stood up well to save.
Sebastien Bassong cleared off the line from Abou Diaby, then the third came after an intelligent advantage played by Clattenburg.
Eduardo had been floored by Assou-Ekotto, the assistant referee flagged for a foul but Clattenburg allowed Sagna to continue after most had stopped. Sagna’s cross went through the barrier formed by Gomes and King, with Van Persie tapping in.
All Spurs had to show for their efforts was a Bentley free-kick which was saved. Eduardo should have added another when he broke the offside trap but his finish went just wide. Bassong picked up a hamstring injury in stoppage-time as Arsenal counter-attacked. – Premier League

Tottenham Hotspurs vs Arsenal

“We always go for it. We only know one way to play and that’s to have a go. I wouldn’t set the team up to play in any other way. We always look to be positive and try and win the game, to take it to the opposition.“
